Where Huntley’s Restaurant stands today is where it all began.

Back in the early days we shared the space with the butchers, the deli and the gift shop, slowly but surely over the years we have expanded this building to comfortably seat up to 160 diners. The retail side of Huntley’s moved over the courtyard in 2008 when the Food Hall was opened, to make way for more demand on goods and outlets and give us more space for extra tables in the restaurant.

We are exactly what it says on the tin and we don’t pretend to be anything else, we’re a family run café/restaurant so expect a homely, rustic experience with a great big friendly smile!

The owner Eddie, is often seen walking through the restaurant with his wellies on chatting to customers and checking if everything is ‘all reet’ or enthusiastically showing a customer around the establishment, and his wife Cate usually has her sleeves rolled up serving ice cream or helping in the restaurant. With them both coming from good farming stock it’s hard to stop them from mucking in and helping out as that is what comes naturally to them both.

The restaurant is a great place to dine, whatever the occasion, whether you are in a rush and just fancy a quick snack, or want to relax with friends and savour a glass of wine. We are open 7 days a week for breakfasts, lunches and afternoon snacks.

Huntley’s prides itself in using local produce and you will be amazed at how much is made on site. You can enjoy a fabulous meal while supporting your local farmers and growers of all, in one sitting, with many items and ingredients on our menu available for purchase in the adjoining food hall.

For those with a sweet tooth we have over 80* flavours of ice cream to eat in or take away and have recently started making ice cream sundaes, which are proving very popular in the restaurant and courtyard whatever the weather.

During the short time we have been open we have been lucky enough to be awarded the Tourism Team of the Year, and the Retailer of the Year, twice. We are also proud to say 2 of our managers have won the ‘Young Tourism Manager of the Year award, Lisa Jackson now the Operations Manageress won this, whilst she was managing the restaurant in 2008 and Matt Wilson the Assistant Restaurant Manager has since won the award to match Lisa’s success!

The Gallery upstairs in the restaurant exhibits many local artists and with a good mix of contemporary and traditional styles, you are sure to find something to your taste.
