Educational Visits by Schools and Colleges
There are many different things we can show whilst on a visit here at Huntley’s. Some may not be able to see all of us, it just depends on how much time you have with us, so you might just have to come back again!
The different areas we have to show you are as follows: -
Dairy where we make our Moo2You ice cream.
Food Hall which consists of our own Bakery, Butchers, Fishmongers, Wine merchant, sweet section, our own freshly prepared ready meals, pies, soups and pizzas, cheese and meat delicatessen counters, our own hot counter where our home made pasties, pizzas, pies can be found to take away nice and hot! Depending on the type of visit you are expecting we can arrange demonstrations from our Bakery, Butchers and Fishmongers on a brief in site into their daily duties and tasks! Just ask when booking in your visit itinerary (small extra charges maybe incurred here)!
During the summer time we have our ducking stool permanently fixed in place in our courtyard – so be sure to bring a FULL change of clothes in case you meet Eddie the owner and he wants to dunk you because you have been naughty during your trip or just because you want a go!! You’ll find the fun and games of the ducking stool on our events page, where you’ll see me (Alex) on the ducking stool from August last year 2009. It is very very cold in there! But if you like you could get your friends to sponsor you to go in and help us to raise more money for our chosen charity, Derian House, a children’s hospice not far from us!
You may have noticed from looking through the website that we also have a maze! Our maze is made from a crop called Miscanthus, Miscanthus is a cousin to Bamboo. Miscanthus basically meanas Elephant Grass, the reason for this is because it grows so very tall, over 7 feet in places! This will be available to visit whilst you are here but it is seasonal and the crop is due to be cut soon, keep an eye on the website for its progress, you will need to have a good sense of direction to be able to find your way round as it has 3.5km of pathways in it!
We have our Sculptor and Blacksmith here, be sure to let us know that you would like to see them on your visit as we could possibly arrange some special demonstrations (again this will all be time dependant)!
We have our resident peacocks, so be sure to bring a camera, you may just catch him showing his feathers (All Seeing Eyes I think they call it when they show off their tails)!
If you have any questions about what kind of itinerary we can put together for you, including any costs for the visit, please do not hesitate to contact jill@huntleys.co.uk (Tuesday to Thursday).

Good morning Jill
I would like to say thank you to you for organising such a wonderful visit that we had the pleasure of attending on Tuesday.
Could you please pass on my thanks to Dave, Alex and Mark for all their patience with my group and making our visit so interesting.
All of the students thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
Thank you once again.
